Is It Okay For Christian Women To Wear Slacks or Pants? | Dan Corner

Dan Corner has observed that there are various groups that claim to teach holiness, which are repulsed at the idea of a Christian woman wearing pants. In fact, they think the following passage is a condemnation of such:

A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. (Deu 22:5)

NOTE: The verse says men’s clothing. It does not say pants. There is a definite difference between the two. Pants are available for both men and women. It is wrong to say that all pants are men’s apparel, just like it would be wrong to say all robes are men’s apparel. The Bible shows that both men and women wore robes:

When David arrived at the summit, where people used to worship God, Hushai the Arkite was there to meet him, his robe torn and dust on his head. (2 Sam 15:32)

So his servant put her out and bolted the door after her. She was wearing a richly ornamented robe, for this was the kind of garment the virgin daughters of the king wore. (2 Sam 13:18)

Again, that is a similar situation, as we have today, with pants. Women are Scripturally forbidden from wearing men’s clothing, but not women’s pants! (Also, all Christian clothing is to be modest to prevent lusting.)
