The Rosary Prayer is a highly important aspect of the Catholic faith, but there are many misunderstandings about what the Bible has to say about the Rosary and its role in spirituality. If you have questions about the Rosary and its message of devotion to Mary, answers are provided. Dan Corner offers a detailed exploration of the Rosary, the Vatican’s stance on the prayer, and the myths and misunderstandings surrounding this key component of Catholicism.
Diotrephes is one of the most evil people mentioned in the New Testament, behind Judas Iscariot and the Antichrist. The surprising part of it is, he was in spiritual leadership. That evil man was a serious problem to the early Christians! Among other things, that servant of the devil was gossiping maliciously about the apostle John and other Christians! He was also kicking people out of the local congregation that should not have been expelled. He was ruling and controlling that assembly with an iron fist, and the apostle John was yet to confront him about his wicked actions. Since such church problems existed back then, even when the apostles were still alive, how much more in our day should we expect church trouble from certain spiritual leaders?
In contrast to the 1 Cor 5:1-5 wicked man who should have been kicked out of the congregation but wasn’t, Diotrophes was kicking people out of the assembly that shouldn’t have been expelled:
I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will have nothing to do with us. So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us. Not satisfied with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church. Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. (3 John 9-11)
